Patient Advisory Committee
The Patient Advisory Committee, a group of approximately 12 – 14 people, meets regularly with the PACO research team and is briefed on progress, reviews plans, provides suggestions regarding proposed solutions and support services for rheumatoid arthritis care at the Brigham and Women’s Arthritis Center. Specifically, the Patient Advisory Committee
- Helps the research team decide which services should be created and how they will be designed.
- Discusses ways to improve care in the Arthritis Center and develops suggestions for rheumatologists and the research team that can lead to improved response to patient concerns.
- Provides guidance as new approaches are tried in the Arthritis Center.
- Helps develop a model of patient-centered care that other hospitals can use.
